The Booth Museum specializes in 20th century art from and about the American West, including exhibits that display Presidential letters and photographs, art relating to the Civil War and Western movie posters. The Booth features pieces from artists including famed sculptor Duane Hanson and painter Maynard Dixon. It has a special hands-on area for the younger crowd, where children can invent stories and create art relating to the history of the west. Located 5 miles northeast of Cartersville, the museum is near the popular lakefront Red Top Mountain State Park.
